THE ARIZONA CLUB & BLOCK 16


It had already become a gambling town with very limited accomodations. Las Vegas featured six hotels and eleven saloons at Block 16 in 1909.


When Nevada gaming was outlawed in 1910, clandestine games often continued along Block 16.

the nightlife and red-light district located downtown between Ogden and Stewart, Block 16, and1st and 2nd, thrives with prostitution, gambling and liquor in spite of Prohibition and laws restricting gambling.
