Wicked Las Vegas
'Wicked' leads the Broadway summer show schedule in Vegas

Wicked Las Vegas is coming to the brand new Smith Center for the Performing Arts this summer, headlining what will most certainly be a great season in Vegas for theater enthusiasts.

While it's been no secret that the Broadway smash musical will be making its way to Sin City for a 6-week run at the Smith Center, excitement rose significantly this past week when Wicked Las Vegas tickets went on sale to the general public.

The Las Vegas Sun reported that more than 60 early birds made their way to the Smith Center to get their Vegas show tickets in person before the masses took their computers at 10am when online sales were made available.

Wicked Las Vegas - which is a sort of prequel to the Wizard of Oz and is centered around Dorothy's antagonist, the Wicked Witch of the West - will debut on August 29th, with weekday evening shows and a handful of weekend afternoon shows available through October 7, 2012. Tickets to Wicked Las Vegas start at $42.

While Wicked might be the most anticipated show to tour Las Vegas this summer, it's certainly not the only Broadway show coming to town. As the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, other popular Broadway shows that will be featured this summer at the Smith Center Las Vegas include Million Dollar Quartet (June 12- 17) and Memphis (July 18- 22), just to name a couple.
