Summary
Features: As the creation of talented Chef Laurent Tourondel, BLT Burger at the Mirage is some kind of mix between a run of the mill burger stand and a high-culinary IQ, and the result is delicious burgers.
Why We Dine: Like any full-blooded American, we love a good burger, and BLT Burger definitely satisfies that requirement. What makes BLT Burger truly unique is that they have taken the concept of the burger to new and wonderful places, and we're thrilled to go along.
- On the Sides: The sides at BLT Burger are nearly worth the trip by themselves: waffle fries, sweet potato fries, and fried pickles are just a few of the options.
- Milkshake Shakeup: Thick and creamy milkshakes are also on the menu at BLT Burger, and as a twist they serve potent and delicious spiked-milkshakes.
Inside Knowledge: BLT Burger also offers take-out, which may be a really good option if you are in a hurry and especially if you are staying at the Mirage.
We Recommend:
- Lamb Tandoori Burger: The amazing flavor of the Lamb Tandoori burger is something that can't really be described, but once you try it, you'll know you've reached burger-heaven.
- Malibu Barbie Milkshake: A blended combination of Malibu Rum, cocunut milk, vanilla ice cream, and pineapple juice, alas, one Malibu Barbie Milkshake never seems like enough.

BLT Burger - Good wings, cookie-cutter atmosphere
Located just to the right of the main entrance to the Mirage, the BLT, in my opinion, was lacking just one thing: Ambiance.
Actually, the inside of the BLT is pretty cool. There's an open kitchen so you can see the cooks in the back, clamoring away to lunch orders just behind the semi-circle bar blocking the patrons from the employees. There are a pair of TVs on either side of the bar - neither of which was in a convenient spot for my neck, which was fine because they were stuck on ESPN and I had seriously seen enough of Jeremy Lin already.
The dining room itself had comfy, plush sitting areas that were only slightly too classy to be labeled booths. Now that I think about it, the BLT interior is really nice; the only problem is that it has floor-to-ceiling windows facing the mall-like entrance to the Mirage. The entire upscale experience is kind of wasted when the outside scenery is reminiscent of dining at your local Applebee's. The funny thing is, I wasn't even facing this particular area and yet the vibe of the restaurant had been semi-ruined.
Am I being harsh? Probably. Honest? Absolutely.
That being said, the service was above average. Granted, I was one of about three people eating lunch at the bar, but still - I had barely sat down before the bartender was handing me a menu and asking politely what I would like to drink.
Unfortunately, I wasn't exactly starving when I visited the BLT, but I still wanted to check the place out so I opted for their tangy barbecue wings instead (with the best wishes of the bartender, of course). 8 wings for $8 was totally reasonable, and the wings at BLT were both delicious and meaty. Big thumbs up, even if I still regret not having the appetite to stomach an entire burger.
I did notice, however, that burgers were $12- $15+ and didn't even include french fries. (I found the same situation at Burger Brasserie in Paris - WTF Vegas?) So, expect to pay around $20 or more for one person if you order a beer, fries and a burger. Yeah, I wasn't stoked by that either, but that's Vegas, I suppose.
To sum it up, I liked the Burger Brasserie at Paris better but, if you're on this side of the Strip, the BLT Burger is adequate, albeit overpriced.
