Diablo's Cantina Heats Up The Las Vegas Strip at Monte Carlo
Customer Testimonial
"
Me and my girlfriends always come to Diablo's when we are in Vegas. Mainly for two reasons, the delicious food and the awesome pitchers of margaritas. A great place to start off your Vegas experience!

Summary
Features: Located directly on the Las Vegas Strip in front of Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino, Diablo's Cantina is a two-story Mexican Restaurant with a party atmosphere that lasts all day long.
Why We Go: While also serving up delicious south-of-the-border cuisine with an American flare, Diablo's Cantina is probably most well-known as a non-stop tequila fueled fiesta.
- Happy Hour: From 3pm-7pm Diablo's hosts one of the most fun and crazy happy hours on the Strip. The $3 drink specials change during these 4 hours every 30 minutes with a giant spinning wheel determining the next special.
- Late Night: After 11pm the restaurant evolves into a nightclub complete with a DJ, go-go dancers and live entertainment.
Inside Knowledge: If you plan on going later in the evening, keep a look out before you enter. There are often guys handing out free Diablo's entry and $3 margarita coupons on the Strip just outside the door.
We Recommend:
- Diablo's Signiture Tacos: Three blackened steak tacos in a soft shell tossed with shredded lettuce and jack cheese, served with Mexican Rice.
- Lettuce Cup Fajitas: For those calorie-counters out there try the lettuce cup fajitas with chicken, steak or portabello served with sauteed peppers, onions, fresh salsa and chucky guacamole.

Diablo Cantina - Good Drinks, Good People
Why did I walk into the Diablo Cantina just as the first minutes of Happy Hour had commenced? The answer is simple - coupons!
But these were not just any coupons - these were $3 Margarita coupons. And since the Margarita is the unofficial (or official?) cocktail of Las Vegas, and since noon had come and gone hours ago, AND since I had a $5-spot on me, I decided to try my luck at this cozy little Cantina attached to the Monte Carlo. Worst case scenario, I would end up taking my discounted drink to go and be done with it. As it turned out, I would end up staying for a second round ...
What did I find at the Diablo that was so appealing? Well, the "hot devil" statue adorning the roof of this Vegas bar and restaurant certainly caught my eye. Plus, the front entrance and windows were wide open, so I could see exactly how busy they were, which meant that I essentially knew what I was getting into. Plus, my friend and I were able to find two seats at the bar, a rarity at the height of Happy Hour in Vegas.
The service behind the bar wasn't the fastest I've ever encountered, but this was forgivable given how busy they appeared to be throughout our stay. There were no 'catches' to the coupons we handed the bartender, and while our first round of Margs came in plastic cups, our second drinks had been transferred to plastic Margarita glasses. However, the most important aspect to the overall Diablo experience was that everyone around us (the clientele) was friendly and fun. (see: "Drunk")
The only thing that I considered "over-the-top" tacky at Diablo was that every half-hour, they convince a young lady to get on to the bar and spin their "Wheel of Deals" - I'm not sure if this is what they actually call it, but it is essentially what this "Price is Right" rip-off amounts to. The "deals" on the wheel included $7 shots and $6 beers so, you could say they were using the term "deals" pretty loosely. Also, the bartender creepily told each lady fortunate enough to find herself on top of the bar to "Do it hard!" Real clever.
That being said, I enjoyed Diablo and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a laid-back Happy Hour drink near the Monte Carlo and New York New York.
