Earl of Sandwich - $6 sandwiches @ Planet Hollywood

The Earl of Sandwich was the first place I ate lunch at after getting off the plane in Vegas, so my review may be skewed based on how hungry I was. That being said, there's no denying that I had a delicious and creative sandwich complements of the Earl.

When I walked by the Earl of Sandwich around 2pm or so, there was a decent-sized line which, in my opinion, is usually a good thing. (I never walk into a restaurant if I'm the only customer. As a former restaurant employee, that's an easy tell to hit the road because this joint stinks.) Since I've never heard of the Earl, and since their prices were so reasonable ($5.99 for a sandwich is a steal in Vegas), I decided to hop in line and dig in.

The menu at the Earl is pretty original; granted, they have the classics, and I nearly went with my old standard, the Classic Club. But then I spotted the Hawaiian, which includes sliced ham, pineapple and a sweetened BBQ sauce on a French roll - all sandwiches are on a French roll, by the way. I had to pull the trigger, and as it turned out I would not be disappointed.

The sandwiches aren't huge, which I appreciated because it can be tough to rally after stuffing your face at lunch and I was absolutely going to eat every bite. With chips and a drink, my total was $10.57 - again, very reasonable for Las Vegas.

My only problem with the Earl is how impersonal their staff was; I'm not sure anyone looked me in the eye and I've honestly had better conversations with Subway sandwich employees. That being said, they were fast and efficient, and the sandwich was a delicious mess. Overall, it was a great "quick lunch" option that definitely sufficed my growling stomach. Kudos to the Earl.

The Earl of Sandwich is the king of sandwiches!

This place is a great lunch spot on the strip of Las Vegas. Each sandwich on their menu looked incredible, how do you choose? The Caribbean Jerk Chicken was delicious! It's made with grilled chicken, roasted red and banana peppers and the best spicy jerk sauce. The sandwich was nice and toasty, the bread was great. I loved the gray lemonade. Try that!

    THE Earl of Sandwich!

AMAZING! I wish this place was somewhere near where i live! Not only in Las Vegas! it was delicious and cheap. 4 girls, 4 different sandwiches, all after midnight on a friday night! everyone of us delighted with our choices! I ordered the caribbean jerk chicken and it was packed with meat and so filling! I will eat here again next time I am in Vegas!!!

    Re: Earl of Sandwich

We ate her twice on our trip in January.  Great for lunch, casual dinner, or a late night snack.  Like many other places in Vegas, it is open 24/7.

Tasty good sized sandwiches run about six dollars and are hard to beat. Have to say my favorite was either the Hawaiian BBQ or the Veggie sandwich.  They also have a kids menu that costs just about nothing... Their sandwiches and wraps are very large. Their tomato soup is tasty, and their side of Earls Slaw is fantastic.

You can fill your bellies without breaking the bank!

Summary

Features: Inside the Planet Hollywood, the Earl of Sandwich offers a welcome twist to the old deli and sub shop. Creative pairings, affordable prices, and extended hours make this a convenient and necessary stop in Vegas.

Why We Dine: Late nights and early mornings just wouldn't be the same without the Earl of Sandwich—the friendly, walk-up joint in the Planet Hollywood serves ridiculously well-made soups and sandwiches, satiating our appetite any time of the day, and late into the night.

  • Fresh Fare: Unlike some of the other food options that are fast, the ingredients at Earl of Sandwich are fresh and, on the whole, much healthier.
  • The Price is Right: Dining on the Strip will put a dent in your wallet in a hurry, however, the Earl of Sandwich is one of the few places that doesn't charge exorbitant tourist prices.

Inside Knowledge: The word on the street is that the Earl of Sandwich in Las Vegas will soon be open 24-hours a day and seven days a week, keep an eye out for this wonderful development!

We Recommend:

  • The Full Montagu: Named after the Earl of Sandwich himself, this sandwich comes with roast beef, turkey, swiss, cheddar, and is made rivaless by the restaurant's special mustard.
  • The Original Roast Beef: This sandwich is unique in the fact that it comes topped with horseradish sauce, and trust us, it's tasty.
