Burger Brasserie - Solid Service, Great Burger
La Burger Brasserie probably doesn't belong in the Paris Las Vegas hotel. This isn't any sort of knock on the restaurant (which I really enjoyed) or the hotel (which, in my opinion, is awesome). Nope - it's just that there's absolutely nothing "French" about this restaurant. (With the exception of the fries, I suppose.)
This is a mildly-upscale burger joint that sits right on the border of Bally's and Paris. The decor of the room includes dim lighting, comfortable booths and a great bar area with a big-screen TV for the single stragglers like myself. After a friendly "Hello" from the bartender - whose attire reminded me of a burlesque dancer from the movie Chicago - I ordered the "American" (or maybe they called it "L'Americain"), which was absolutely delicious and included fried onion rings on top.
The burger was about $12, but didn't include fries. In my opinion, no burger is complete without fries, and since they were only an extra $4 or so, I decided to splurge. So, if you're counting at home, 2 Bud Lites, a burger and fries ended up costing about $25 before tip. Kind of steep, but the ambiance of the bar, the friendly service and the big-screen sitting directly in front of me made it worth it.
Also, when I noticed the glass I was drinking out of featured one of my all-time favorite NFL players, Marshall Faulk, I asked the bartender if I could keep it and they kindly obliged. In fact, they replaced it with a clean one, free of charge. I like to think I reciprocated their generosity on the tip, but still, that was nice of them. Especially considering that I convinced a young lady to try the same move at the Diablo Cantina the following afternoon and she was DENIED.
Anyways, this is a good place to bring a date, or even if you're flying solo. Good people, good food.
