Summary
Features: The stunning theatrical adaptation of your favorite Disney movie The Lion King moves audiences with out-of-this world costuming and an Oscar-winning soundtrack.
Why We Go: The Lion King Las Vegas is a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience brought to life by a top-notch director, composers (Elton John, anybody?), and a stunning cast of performers.
- Fresh material: You have probably seen the original animated version of The Lion King a million times, but the theatrical adaptation offers audiences a few new scenes and songs.
- Costuming: Director Julie Taymor does the impossible with her inspired interpretation of African wildlife. Life-sized giraffes roam the pridelands with the help of men on stilts, and you'll swear those stampeeding wildebeasts are about to rough you up in the audience.
Inside Knowledge: Please be warned very young children, including infants, who do not need their own seat are still required to have a ticket for this show.
Do's and Don'ts:
- Do Get Comfortable: The running time of this production is an epic (by Las Vegas standards) 2 hours and 30 minutes, which includes a 15 minute intermission.
- Don't Wait for "Chow Down": The hyenas' song from the original movie was cut, along with "The Morning Report," for the theatrical adaptation.

This show is visually entertaining! the outfits are so bright and colorful and the music was great! The characters were great too..the older version to younger. Our kids had no problem going with the story line, being that they watched the Disney movies like over a hundred times when they were younger. It was a really good show and I highly recommend going to see it, even if you don't have kids!

The Lion King at Mandalay Bay
We were given these tickets to see the Lion King as a Christmas gift from Grandpa and Grandma. It was a total surprise. We had been talking about going for years but never seemed to get our act together to purchase them let alone purchasing them 6 months in advance (which is what you need to do).
Our girls were as excited as my husband and I were. We got all dressed up and had a nice meal out and then went to the show. It deserved the standing ovation that it received.
Great for families with kids over 5. Everyone left the amphitheater smiling and singing!

The Lion King at Mandalay Bay we are big fans
If you are fans of Disney movies than you will enjoy The Lion King at the Mandalay Bay. The show is a great production, beautifully and intelligently staged. The performers did amazing jobs, and the settings, lighting and sounds were superb. It is a good family show maybe not for really young children. It is an entertaining show that will keep your full attention at all time. The show was well done, come see!

Re: The Lion King at Mandalay Bay
My husband was a bit hesitant to see this show but we knew he would like it and were going to go with, or without him. Fortunately, he decided to go.
The actors, music, choreography, elaborate, creative, and magical set design all add up to what all Broadway shows should be. There is so much continuous action going on in this show that you don't know which way to look. We were all mesmerized!
We all agreed that this was the best show we had seen and it is great for all ages! Tickets are hard to come by unless of course you can plan ahead and purchase many, many months in advance. Well worth every penny spent on this fabulous production!
