Summary
Features: Menopause the Musical Las Vegas opens with a hormone-fueled fight at a Bloomingdale's lingerie sale triggered by four women going through "the change." The show documents the less-than-glamorous aspects (hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, etc.) of this rite of passage through hilarious song parodies of popular hits from 60's, 70's, and 80's.
Why We Go: While menopause isn't normally something we'd buy a ticket to see, the comedic twist on this normally extremely unfunny time in a woman's life is pure, ridiculous fun.
- Song parodies: The ladies keep the audience rolling in the aisles with lyrical strokes of genius like Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools" tweaked into "...change, change, change, change of life."
- Sisterhood: As the four characters divulge their own battles with menopause, the mostly-female (and over 50) audience relishes in a shared experience with a roomful of strangers.
Inside Knowledge: In the finale, the audience is invited to join the cast on stage for a rousing final song.
