MGM Grand Las Vegas - first trip to Vegas, great start

I went to Vegas for the first time with three girlfriends. Besides, the typical girl fights and pettiness we had a great time :) We stayed for 5 nights and the MGM was fabulous!

There were tons of things to do so we really didn't have to leave the hotel. We spend most of the days at the pool and loved the lazy river. Met tons of cool people and got really burned of course. The lion enclosure was incredible. Great restaurants, atmosphere and highly recommend

I have to be very honest I was very naive going to Vegas and am glad I stayed at the MGM. It was rather calm compared to other places I have stayed. It was the best place to experience the city for the first time and not as overwhelming and ostentatious as other properties.

Lion Habitat has FREE admission

The MGM has an up close and personal look at Lions.  They have a Lion Habitat that is almost all glass (like an aquarium).  The way the exhibit was built allows visitors to see the Lions under and within their living space.  After a long day at the pool and gambling, it’s fun to just hang out drink a cold one and watch.  It’s open from 11am to 7pm and admission is FREE.  There is also some great people watching too (the habitat attracts a ton of people).

MGM Grand Las Vegas - Best on the strip

We don't stay anywhere else. The rooms overlooking the strip are great. Plenty of restaurant choices for all budgets. The property is big, so plan on doing a lot of walking.

Missed the rating

MGM/Mirage properties set the standard on “The Strip” In my opinion! I just visited MGM Grand for 4 days & got back from there yesterday. Even though I didn’t hit a “Jackpot” this time I have hit my share in the past. Plainly said…”MGM properties ROCK”! ”CraftSteak” @ MGM Grand has great steaks & service! JT @ Craftsteak really hooks it up! Viva!!!

Beatiful Grand Hotel!

We just returned from a 5-night stay at the MGM Grand, and we had a great time. The 'river' pool was fun, there's drink service and a cafe there too. The room was tastefully decorated with a marble bathroom, the room was clean and the bed was like sleeping in heaven. The food was excellent - Wolfgang Puck's has the best steak I have ever tasted, the casino was superb, alot of action going on in the casino, The staff and service were impeccable!....what bad things can you say about this hotel?....we had none!

Classy,a must when in Vegas!

Stayed for 5 nights in a Deluxe king room on 26th Floor with great views of the mountains.

Rooms are high standard and most important they stay cool.

The pool areas are wonderful.

Food is of a good standard and the buffet breakfast is a must have.

It is the classiest hotel on the strip. I would definitely not stay anywhere else.

One of the best in VegasThe MGM was a great hotel to stay in, the service was good, the rooms were huge, great comps and the food was great too. Entertaining place to stay and play

Entertaining place to stay and playThe MGM is great; spacious, clean rooms, nice casino, good restaurants, great shopping, and a monorail station. The negative side is the number of hookers that stand at the bottom of the elevators at night trying to "get a date." You have to show your room card to get into the elevators but the security doesn't do anything about the whores who harass you. Otherwise, it's a great place.

The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino is grand.

The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino is definitely a grand way to go when you go to Las Vegas.  The rooms are very nice and they have many different sizes of suites.  You have many choices of restaurants from the finest restaurant in the USA, Joel Roebuchon to many good casual choices.  The hotel is in the center of the strip.  The gambling and the shows are good, and the price for the hotel  is reasonable.  We have stayed there many times and we are always happy to return.

We had a super time at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas

My husband and I stayed three nights at the MGM Grand Hotel and had a super time.  The location is probably not the best on the strip but it isn't bad either.  Our room was clean and nice although we have stayed in more modernized rooms elsewhere (not very spacious and they didn't even have a flat-screen tv).  The best part about our room was the bed.  It was by far, the most comfortable bed we had ever slept in! Oh... be careful with the minibar... The items inside are on sensors so if you move something around, it will come up on your bill so make certain that you go over your bill carefully before checking out.

The Grand Buffet was a bit of a disappointment but we were very happy with the 24 hour Studio Cafe.  For our last night in Vegas, we decided to do it up and have a nice dinner at Emeril's.  Actually it was a bit too pretentious for us though we did enjoy our meals.

The pool gets very crowded early and it seemed as if people must have been going down at the crack of dawn in order to save their seats.  The pool staff was very friendly and we learned quickly that if you tip good, they don't forget you and will do everything they can to accommodate you.

Re: MGM Grand Hotel and Casino

I stayed at the MGM Grand the third week of January, 2010 and really felt that it was just ok.  Don't get me wrong,.. It's nice but the room I stayed in was very outdated and really showed it's age.  I don't mind paying $$$ but I do like to get that "WOW" affect.  If you haven't ever stayed there before, it is a nice, clean, and well managed hotel. However, given all of the other options for hotels to stay in within the same price range, I think I would try somewhere else on my next visit to Vegas.

i came to the mgm because of the many recommendations i had read and heard. i was not let down. we had a great time. i brought my two teenage children. we all had a blast!

it's not very central to the hustle and bustle of the strip, but that was fine. we never had to leave the mgm. plenty of gambling, shopping, resturants, and pools right at the hotel.

i will definitely be back!!

Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill is a fine-dining restaurant with an open-air design in the middle of MGM Grand's casino. The popular celebrity chef created the exciting menu with a few dishes that we want to highly recommend such as the truffled potato chips with maytag blue cheese and the beef tenderloin with a peppercorn sauce. Night owls, this is the spot for you. This upscale eatery serves food until 6am.

For the absolute pinnacle in Las Vegas fine dining, there's only one answer: Joel Robuchon at the MGM Grand. Private transportation to the restaurant in the signature gold limousine and limited seating in the dining room creates an intimate experience you will never forget.

To give you an idea of what to expect from the menu, know that executive chef Joel Robuchon has been named Chef of the Century and his namesake restaurant is the only one in Las Vegas to earn three Michelin stars, the highest ranking possible.

At Studio 54 you won't find the epic display of disco that gained the original New York location notoriety, but, that's a good thing, as the Studio 54 in Las Vegas is chic and modern, combining the spirit of the old with the innovation of the new. Part of this innovation is in the Go-Go dancers who display their well-toned bodies on elevated platforms above the dance floor.

All kinds of different types and ages make up the crowd at Studio 54, which creates a non-pretentious vibe, and a welcoming atmosphere. Also, there are plenty of bars and a second level that is perfect for watching all of the action.

2.5

The upscale Tabu Lounge can be found inside the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino on the Vegas Strip. The thing that takes Tabu from being just another lounge, to being one of Vegas' best ultralounges is an attention to detail that includes servers who work in the modeling industry and a decor that is at once chic and purposeful. This venue will have it's last night open on April 5th, 2013, as it is closing on April 6th, 2013.

Feel free to let loose and dance anywhere that you feel moved at Tabu, and don't worry about losing your friends, because Tabu is a smaller and more intimate venue than many of the other nightspots on the Strip.

Enjoy drinks at one of the newest bars at the MGM Grand, Rouge Las Vegas. The exquisite red and black theme complimented by dim lighting boasts the perfect ambiance for pre-partying with a group of friends or chatting with strangers at the bar. Don't miss out on the beautiful servers, delicious cocktails, specialty beers, bubbly champagne and fine wines.

Nobhill Tavern is the perfect place to begin your night in Sin City. Owned by celebrity Chef Michael Mina, Nobhill Tavern offers a great atmosphere for socializing and an expansive drink menu that features revamped classic drinks. The fresh seafood will make you think you're chowing down on their lobster roll on the East Coast.

Zuri Bar Vegas is the perfect meeting spot for your friends, family, and co-workers. Located inside the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Zuri Bar Las Vegas offers hard-to-find pints of beer from around the world, specialty vodkas and infused bourbons. Open 24 hours a day, Zuri Bar Las Vegas is great for pre-dinner drinks or a nice place to hang out after the nightclubs have closed down.

Hakkasan Las Vegas is the newest nightclub addition to the Strip. Ringing in the grand opening with a massive celebration that includes top musical artists and DJs, Hakkasan is already gaining a lot of momentum due to excited club-goers and some of the hottest names in music making appearances at this Vegas megaclub.

Hakkasan is the latest mega club to hit the Las Vegas Strip. The impressive venue has multiple levels, each with it's own unique vibe. Although Hakkasan is all indoors, the Pavilion level features an outdoor feel, complete with a two-stroy waterdall, an ordiental garden and its own DJ booth.

MGM Grand Las Vegas Pools

One of the things that has made the MGM Grand one of the most famous properties on the Strip is its pool complex that still rivals any pool on the Strip in design and amenities. The spacious complex includes five pools and three jacuzzis that are set in a tropical oasis that is capped off by a long and winding lazy river.

You can participate in a water activity, swim laps, lay out with a cocktail in hand...the point is that there are enough options at the MGM pool to satisfy any guests pool-going agenda.

Visit the Strip's first ultra pool, Wet Republic at the MGM Grand. This must see Vegas attraction boasts a 53,000 square foot venue, two saltwater pools, 8 water lounges, premier cabanas, and waitresses who happen to look like models! Get your night started early at Wet Republic Las Vegas.
