Fun place to stay
Great hotel. Friendly staff and clean rooms. We payed extra for a room with a view and we did get a view of the strip. The hotel is beautiful and we had a blast in the casino. Even got a few free drinks. We saw the Jabbawalkies which was a great show. We didn't use the pool as it was a little chilly, but we walked out there and it looked really nice and clean. Would def stay here again!

Monte Carlo - Classy hotel, old Vegas standard
(Note: This review is for everything BUT the hotel rooms at the Monte Carlo.)
I spent an inordinate amount of time at the Monte Carlo for someone who didn't actually stay here, so I can say with a lot of confidence that this would be an absolutely great place to stay. After dealing with the service, dining and taking in the sports book, I really have only positive things to say about the Monte Carlo.
First, the Monte Carlo Theatre is a great place to see a show. I saw Jabbawockeez which is supposedly closing down soon. However, no matter the show, I can tell you that the seats are all close to the stage, the acoustics and lighting are top-notch, and the production value is superb. Plus, there isn't much of a wait in line, there's a bar before you enter (though I'm pretty sure you can bring your own drinks in) the theatre, and the box office employees are super-helpful. Great experience. (Even if I'd give the show itself a B+.)
Second, the Brand Lounge is one of my favorite casino-floor-hangouts in the daytime, though the nightlife scene there is a slightly different story. There's also a decent food court towards the back (or front, depending where you enter) where you can get some cheap, decent food in a hurry.
Lastly, as far as the rest of their nightlife options are concerned, I really enjoyed both the Diablo Cantina and The Pub. Diablo, in particular, always seems to have a pretty good crowd on hand, their drinks are strong and their coupons are great. (Look for the young lady passing out $3 Margarita coupons out front.) I've been to the Diablo multiple times and have ALWAYS had fun so, just take my word for it. The Pub has a Dueling Pianos show on Thursdays that's solid, but I would recommend the nearby Bar at Times Square at New York NY when it comes to quality and crowd. (Though the $2 beer deals don't hurt.)
Overall, it's no coincidence that I kept finding myself at the Monte Carlo throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend checking out the Monte Carlo on your next visit to Vegas.

Monte Carlo Las Vegas - I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!!!
The staff was very rude and unprofessional. Security needs to take customer service training and learn how to talk to guests in a professional manner. In the casino, the waitress just kept walking by without offering a drink while I was playing the slot machines. This was my first time ever visiting Las Vegas, and I was very unpleased with the service and being approached by security with lies told by another guest in the room next door to my room. Security automatically accused my family member and I of the lies that they received from the guest next door to our room. Security harrassed me and my family member. The Monte Carlo is not a good hotel to stay at ; the hallways were very smelly, an older man was punched in the face on the elevator by a young drunk man that he didn't even know. This was the worse hotel I ever stayed in and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The Monte Carol Resort and Casino gets a thumb down!!!! :(

Overrated
OverratedMy husband and I stayed at the Monti Carlo for three days and were disappointed with the service and amenities. Considering how much competition there is in Vegas right now, one would think customer service would be a top priority! And it is at many hotels, but the Monti Carlo isn't one of them apparently.

OMG now I'm worried
OMG now I'm worriedJust read the reviews on this site. I booked a double room for us just an hour ago for three nights in April that are actually complimentary. But I will definitely look for another promotion between now and then and cancel this reservation when I find something else. "Dirty windows"? "bathtubs plugged up"? ewww..... Rude behavior and stingy comps? - No thank you!

Over rated
Over ratedWe just returned last Sunday night from a four night visit to the Monte Carlo. Our daughter was being married on the 8th in Vegas and we were looking forward to a lovely visit at this one time visited vacility. Not ONCE did anyone inquire whether I would like to join their slot club or whatever they call it until the last evening I approached someone and asked them about the oversight. I normally spend about one thousand dollars a day in slots and ON ONE asked me about this?!! Also, to get a drink from a server took anywher from thirty to sixty minutes and I was told by one server "you had better tip"!! Unbelieveable!! I will NEVER stay there again! Room was clean, but windows you couldn't see out of. Asked for an upgrade and was told very rudely, we don't have any. But when we offered to pay, they had plenty. Don't visit this ageing, run-down, non-caring casino. Many more lovely places to stay.

"Horrible Service"
"Horrible Service"This was our 4th stay at the Monte Carlo and up until this visit we usually had very good service. We stayed for a week in September and had nothing but poor customer service and problems. The professionalism and friendliness of the staff has declined dramatically. We requested a view of the strip but the windows were so filthy dirty (on both sides) it was difficult to enjoy the view. The tub drain did not work. During our vacation I had an emergency at home and went to the desk to ask if they could fax my insurance cards back home for my daughter. The person working the desk was extremely rude. She looked at my account and said that I should have added these extra services to our account when we checked in. These services include faxing, the workout room and 2 BOTTLES OF WATER a day for a fee $9.95 a day. (What a deal) She said for her to fax my insurance cards she would have to charge this fee for me for our entire visit which would come to $80.00.(we were already 4 days into our vacation) It was bad enough that I was extemely upset over a situation at home but then to be talked to in the manner that this women talked to me was totally unacceptable.

Monte Carlo...Nice
My wife and I just returned from a week at the Monte Carlo in a standard room. We were delighted with our accommodations and the prices; the location on the strip; the monorail to the Belaggio, the friendly and attentive service, the pool complex. We found nothing to complain about at the Monte Carlo. This was the most fun and satisfying short vacation we've had in years. We will surely return.

Had a very nice stay
We were in Vegas for memorial day weekend, we stayed for four days, Upon arrival we found the taxi/valet areas to be laid out really nice, taxi's drop off in the back of the building, and pick up in the front which made it a lot easier than other hotels where they try to cram both in to the same area. Check in went smooth, and when we checked out it was through an interactive check out process through the t.v. in the room which was really nice. We went to the pool every day and it was great. They have a wave pool, a regular swimming pool, and a lazy river pool that floats you around in a big circle. the pool side drink service is nice, too. Overall I would say the Monte Carlo is a middle of the road place, nothing overly fantastic about it, but certainly nothing wrong with it either.

Very good
We stayed at this hotel because it was on the strip and close to other hotels. We were very well treated by staff (we requested a king sized bed but there was none available and staff was kind in her apology). Checkout was a good experience with a friendly bell person who talked with us and made us feel good. I think that's what good, experienced and professional hotel workers are supposed to do. We didn't gamble much and we sort of miss the noise of the slots cha chinging but that's progress I guess.

Las Vegas Review - Not bad, not great
Not bad, not greatThe construction that is going on next door to this hotel was very aggravating, when we were there, the wave pool was undergoing repairs so we were a little disappointed with this, other than that, the staff was nice, the rates were good and the rooms were big. Check-in was easy and quick and Diablo's bar was fun, the music was decent and the dance floor is a good size and the outdoor patio is a nice feature.

A very pretty and moderatly priced hotel in an excellent spot on the strip
This hotel fills the bill nicely. While not a pretentious as the most expensive hotels, it is nonetheless very well appointed. The clientele tend to be solid middle class, middle aged and quiet. The pool is great featuring a wave pool, a lagoon, a lazy river, a water fall and a kiddie pool.
This is a good comfortable and charming hotel. The service is very good the rooms spotless and the location excellent. You are in the midst of the strip but the casino is not overcrowded. The drink service is pretty good, too.

Much to loud, dirty windows, pool area not relaxing at all, bath drain problems, brew pub terrible!!,We've stayed there before and was happy in the past but this visit was the worst, with the construction starting at 4 a.m and the pool area was so loud you couldn't even hear the music (unless you sat close to the outside dinning of the Brew Pub, which served terrible food), and parts of the pool area were closed, which was probably good seeing how much debris floating in the wave pool... We were actually very disappointed the hotel, we won't return there next year...

Well-priced for the quality
Great place to stay; check-in is in an opulent area of the hotel, professional service, friendly staff. The rooms are nice enough and, most importantly, clean.
The downside is that the table limits generally increase earlier here than other casinos.
The best part of the whole place is the Market City Cafe restaurant. BEST KEPT SECRET IN VEGAS. Eat the "Tre Formaggio" pizza, and thank me later.

Easy to get around in
We found the Monte Carlo to be an excellent hotel in Vegas. Much easier to get around in than some of the larger hotels (MGM). Staff was excellent including the valets who parked for us. They gave excellent directions and were very friendly.

Disappointed. Heard a lot of good things, but the hotel from check in, on was very disappointingChecked in 8/14/08. Hotel was recommended. but I was very disappointed. Hotel clerk could not find reservation, that was there. After 25 minutes he found it, after name had been given to him 3 times. The rooms were hot with the thermostat set at 60, bathtub did not drain. and room was semi clean. Manager could only make excuses. Did offer free buffet. Maintenance came to room, air filter was filthy, and motor for AC needed to be blown out. Called manager back, and requested to be moved. New room not clean, tub drained but water pressure was awful. Buffet was very good.

A slap in the face!
A slap in the face!My last stay at the Monte Carlo was the 3rd time I visited their casino this year. Let me say that both of my previous stays at the Monte Carlo was exceptional, but this time my experience was quite different. At the end of my previous stay I was approached by one of the Casino Hosts and told that they would like to extend 2-3 nights complementary based on my level of gaming, this offer was good for my next visit to their Resort and Casino. At the end of August we received a promotional offer from the Monte Carlo by e-mail and decided to take them up on the offer and went ahead and booked the trip. The second day during our trip we decided to go and talk to the Casino Host that offered to comp us 2-3 nights for our next visit and was pleased that she not only remembered me by face but also had remembered the offer she had extended, when I told her that I would like to take her up on the offer she pulled up my information on her computer and advised me that she could not honor her offer since we were visiting under a promotion. This seemed kind of strange to me since she specifically stated on my prior trip that her “offer” was based on the level of gaming we had played during that visit. I express that I was disappointed as I was hoping that any comps for the current visit could be used towards taking my wife to some of their dinning establishments. She looked into the level of gaming that we had already played for the 2 days prior to talking with her and she proceeded to comped us 2 nights stay off our bill based on those 2 days. She asked if I planned to maintain the current level of play for the remainder of our trip, I let her know that we have a set daily amount which we spend collectively so the level of gaming would stay very consistent, she replied that any other incidentals such as dinning etc… would certainly be covered by the Casino and to please see her again before we checkout in order to have those charges taken off our bill, of course this “comp” would be in relation to our level of gaming. My wife and I enjoyed the rest of our vacation; I'm big fan of the Blackjack tables but I'm no high roller in any sense of the word, I'm not going to get to far into dropping numbers, amounts, wins losses etc…etc… but I will say that on average I spend about 5 hours per day on Blackjack and my average bet is about $60.00 (any mid range gambler knows how many hands of Blackjack you can go thorough in an hour with a fast dealer). Anyhow, prior to check out I stopped back by the Casino Hosts office and to see what they could do with what was left on my tab and what future comps may have compiled for future visits since I was unable to take advantage of her original offer. She pulled up my information advised me that I had spend $224.00 on miscellaneous incidentals, she then went back to examining my gaming activity, to my surprise she advised me that she had “OVER COMPED ME” when she had taken off 2 nights from my bill earlier on the trip. I know how the comps work and the amount of the 2 nights she comped was less then 10% of what I had spent in the Casino at that point in the vacation, coupled with the fact that $224.00 would be small fraction of comp value even for just one day of gaming between my wife and me. I asked her why she had told me to came back to receive the rest of my “comp value” prior to check out, she replied that it was her oversight but offered no remedy. Anyone that has visited Las Vegas any number of times will recognize that the Monte Carlo took advantage of my loyalty to their establishment. They are losing a very loyal customer over $224.00, on Blackjack I would lose $224.00 in 4 losing hands within a matter of minutes. Its not the amount of money spend –vs- what should have been comped, it’s a matter of principles, its obvious that the Monte Carlo does not value me as a customer. Based on this experience I would not recommend anyone to this establishment that plans to spend any time in their Casino

The Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino
I had previously stayed at the Monte Carlo and was satisfied. However, I am sorry to say that this stay was quite disappointing. The shower did not work properly, the tv died, and the furniture was badly in need of repair. Housekeeping did not do a very good job of cleaning either. As I was coming back to my room I actually saw the lady wiping out the glassware with the same towel that she cleaned the bathroom sink with. yuck!
The casino itself was nice as well as the restaurants that we ate at. I did report the above mentioned complaints to the management because if they don't get reported, they may never get fixed. I would give this property another try but if it turns out to be a repeat of my last stay, I have to say that I will probably go elsewhere.

Monte Carlo Hotel Las Vegas - Upscale Experience at a Mid-Point Price
It's a bit outdated but the price is right and it's clean and in a great location. Last year I visited the casino on business and my wife wanted to stay there. We stayed three days, and while I have stayed at better hotels, for the price, you can't go wrong at the Monte Carlo. The casino was as good as others on the strip. Table limits were fairly low, odds were as good as anything else on the strip. Drink service was better than usual. Tip a couple bucks a round and the service is exceptional. I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. There is a CVS next door that is very convenient for sundries. If you want the top flight experience, this hotel will disappoint you. If you would like upscale experience at a mid price point, you will not be disappointed here. Finally, I am a mid range gamer and they made me a generous offer to return. Don't forget to get a players card, if you don't already have one. It is good at a number of locations nearby.

We are looking forward to our return visit to the MC
We really enjoyed our stay at the MC! Checking in was smooth and friendly. Our room was on the 27th floor and faced the MGM Grand Hotel. Not much of a view of the strip with all of the large hotels next door. Not a big deal though...we were only in our room to sleep.
We at lunch at Diablo's Cantina which is on the hotel grounds. Great taco plates and outrageous margaritas. Had a great time out at the pool and was really impressed with the poolside service.
Definitely one of the better priced Vegas hotels and we are really looking forward to our return visit in May.
