Everyone has those friends who expect you to catch all of the biggest tourist attractions no matter where you are going and there are quite a few must see attractions in Las Vegas that they will be devastated to hear you missed. So if you want to bring home photos to brag about, or you just want to see them for yourself, here are the best free Las Vegas icons to check out!

  • Bellagio Fountains: If you've ever heard of a fountain with more movie cameos than this one, we'll be surprised to hear of it. A trip to Las Vegas is never complete without a stop at this classic fountain and light show.
  • Mirage Volcano: This is one of the most explosive must see attractions in Vegas - pun intended. Watch this 54-foot tall volcano erupt nightly with huge flames and great sound effects!
  • Welcome to Las Vegas Sign: It's impossible to think of Las Vegas without picture the neon "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign making it one of our favorite must see attractions in Las Vegas. And the best part is they created a parking lot right next to it so we can safely park and take as many silly pictures as we want!
  • Fremont Street Experience: This psychedelic light and sound show that takes place above our heads in Downtown Las Vegas stretches across 5 football fields and definitely a must see.

"Only in Vegas" Sights

Vegas is one of those cities that is so crazy it has a handful of idioms of its very own and while "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" might be the wildest, "only in Vegas" is definitely our favorite. Places such as hotels and theaters that would be normal or boring in other cities never fail to have us chuckling in "only in Vegas" awe all the time here.

Vegas Natural Attractions

With so many amazing natural attractions in our back yard we have to include them in our list of must see attractions in Vegas. Just a short drive from the Strip there are tons of great outdoor adventures, or get a tour and be transported by air from your hotel!

  • The Grand Canyon: If you're the adventuring type, the Grand Canyon is an excellent place to pack a bag and hike to your heart's content. Or check out the gorgeous views with a Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour or even Grand Canyon River Rafting!
  • Lake Mead: As the largest man-made lake in the Western Hemisphere Lake Mead has every type of water activity you could hope for. Boating, water skiing, or just hanging out at the beach are all great things to do at this outdoor haven near Las Vegas.
  • The Hoover Dam: With all sorts of awesome tours the Hoover Dam is actually one of the Seven Industrial Wonders of the World. Go on a Hoover Dam "VIP" Ground Tour to go beneath the giant concrete dam to exciting places the general public never gets to see!
