Halloween in Las Vegas, could it get any better? Don’t think that it can’t get scary in Las Vegas? Well my friends, you’re wrong. There are plenty of spooky things to do while visiting Vegas during the bewitching month of October just read on and see.

Monster Mayhem has returned to Las Vegas this October and its back with a vengeance, ready to scare you to death.

Located along S. Las Vegas BLVD near sunset at the airport is the Town Square Mall parking lot is where all the scares and haunts begin, taking you through 3 complete haunted attractions, the Haunted Mansion, Morbid Clown Manor and a new attraction, the Aces and Eights Haunted Casino. The Boneyard, an above ground cemetery is just like the ones in New Orleans complete with ghouls, zombies and decaying corpses scary enough to make you jump right out of your skin.

Monster Mayhem begins October 13th and each house takes about 10 minutes to complete. Plan for at least an hour and a half to go through and also take in to account the time that you will be standing in line, plan for about a 2 ½ hour haunting.

If you’re feeling a little frisky for Halloween you can hit the Fetish & Fantasy Halloween Ball. The ball takes place at the Sport Center of Las Vegas and will have entertainment of all sorts including world class DJ’s 2 haunted houses, fire performers and stilt walkers, just to name a few. Costumes can range from the very naughty to all out scary.

The Adventure Dome at Circus Circus gets turned into the Fright Dome at Halloween time. This year enjoy a total of 5 Haunted Houses, live freak shows and rides galore.

Located inside of Puff Lounge is the Electro House of Horrors. They have a costume contest, entertainment by Sleazo the clown, live art by Rosedoll and ladies get in free providing they are in costume, not to mention 2 DJ’s that will be spinning scary tunes all night.

If you’re in Vegas with the kids, take them to the Haunted Harvest at the Springs Preserve. Enjoy the museums, a narrated haunted hayride, and “Safe Street” trick-or-treating. Creepy creatures in a spooky atmosphere, The Haunted harvest is for kids and adults of all ages.

If your into “haunting of the mind”, take a haunting journey into the mind of Criss Angel performing at the Luxor Hotel & Casino. Criss teams up with Cirque Du Soleil and performs stunning illusions along with heightened imagery, fantastical creatures and impossible feats, a show that only the talented illusionist can get away with.

We hope that our Halloween scare guide will be able to help you out while you are visiting Las Vegas at this bewitching time of year.

Gaming Centers Nationwide are tightening up on their budgets to get through the next year or so of tough economic times. It’s no surprise with the economy in the state that it is in; budget tightening is hurting not only the gambling industry but also in the towns where they are located.

Leave it up to MGM to bring not only revenue to Vegas but also jobs. MGM is spending around $9.1 billion for the massive City Center project which is due to go live by the end of 2009. This city within a city has anything and everything do whether it is shopping, gambling, lodging, golf, sports, dining, you name it, and the City Center has it, a city with in a city that sustains itself with no help from the outside.

Analysts are predicting that the economical recession will more than likely subside in 2010 and right in that time frame city center will have brought at least 12,000 new jobs into Las Vegas, bringing the city back on track and enjoying the economic booms that it had before the recession happened.

Some say that, believe it or not, this is the time to be investing into Las Vegas. Las Vegas homes are very cheap at this time and realtors can’t even give the houses away. The new project will more than likely bring more upscale gamblers and visitors back into Las Vegas. The future is looking just grand in the desert.

Las Vegas has been hit unusually hard by recent economic woes with casino revenue down 16 percent in May, the fifth straight monthly decline, according to the Nevada Gaming Commission.

On Thursday Deutsche Bank AG announced the foreclosure of the property after developer Ian Bruce Eichner defaulted on a $760 million loan according to a report filed by Bloomberg News.

Germany’s Largest bank weighed selling the complex after Eichner’s January default, said the Bloomberg sources. Deutsche Bank is in the process of taking over the property and will begin speaking with other casino companies such as Hilton Hotels Corp. and MGM Mirage to help run its 80,000-square-foot casino, the people said.

“Deutsche Bank wants to be engaged in banking, not running a casino,” said Matthew Clark, a London-based analyst at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. “They’ve had to decide between selling the Cosmopolitan into a bad market or holding on for better times.”

Ian Bruce Eichner, the project’s New York City-based developer, previously lost two Manhattan buildings to creditors in the early 1990s, including the 75-story CitySpire Center at 150 W. 56th Street and the 45-story Bertlesmann Building at 1540 Broadway Ave. Cosmopolitan’s default notice came less than two weeks after the project’s chief operating officer, Audrey Oswell, left the company for the under-construction Fontainebleau.

Microsoft’s touch-screen Surface computers have debuted in a Las Vegas casino bar giving Sin City partiers high-tech tools for flirting and concocting cocktails.

“People continue to be excited about the endless possibilities of Surface technology and how it can transform everyday scenarios, including the social and entertainment space,” said Microsoft Surface general manager Pete Thompson.

Harrah’s said it put six customized Surface computers in a bar at its Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

A “Flirt” feature in the Surface computers lets people exchange original messages or choose from suggested come-on lines.

Harrah’s crafted its own software for the machines and equipped them with cameras so people can send pick-lines, drinks or both to bar-goers they are interested in connecting with in real life.

Patrons can create drink recipes and then have the cocktails delivered to themselves or others.

Harrah’s vice president of innovation, gaming and technology Tim Stanley said investment in the technology is aimed at giving “a new genre of guests” chances to discover “uninhibited excitement”.

People can use the computers to play games, watch online videos, or take a virtual stroll along the renowned Las Vegas strip without leaving their seat at the “iBar,” according to Harrah’s.

The owner of Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel and Casino filed for bankruptcy but promised it will conduct business as usual at all of its gaming and resort properties.

Tropicana Entertainment LLC owns of 13 casinos with 11,000 employees in 5 states including its resort in Las Vegas, blamed its inability to cover its debts on its license problems in New Jersey, Atlantic City.

A significant downturn in tourism, a drop in real estate values and a tightening of the credit market that made acquiring more debt impossible were also cited for the filing Monday.

According to the filing, the company has 3.3 billion dollars in debt and 2.8 billion in assets. It brought in 1.0 billion dollars in revenues last year.

A state judge is overseeing the sale of Tropicana Atlantic City, which must be completed by June 9.

President Scott Butera complained in the filing Monday in US Bankruptcy Court in Delaware that the move is devaluing the assets by forcing a court sale to occur “in an artificially constrained timeframe into the teeth of an extremely inhospitable real estate market.”

Gaming revenues in Atlantic City were down 9.6 percent in 2007 from 2006, the New Jersey Casino Control Commission reported.

The decline came amid a national economic downturn that has reduced the public’s appetite for travel and leisure spending.

The Tropicana in New Jersey isn’t included because it is in state custody and two casinos, the Amelia Belle Casino in Louisiana and the Westin Casaurina in Las Vegas, are owned by a corporate affiliate, Columbia Sussex.

The bankruptcy filing puts the fate of the company’s most valuable asset, the Tropicana Las Vegas, in question.

Land on the Las Vegas Strip in recent years has been sold for as much as 35 million an acre, meaning the real estate holdings alone in Las Vegas could be worth more than one billion.
