Do's and Dont's

  • Do Visit the Pleasure Pit: In the middle of the Planet Hollywood casino floor and all of the gaming action, women clad in sexy outfits show off their moves, making it hard to focus on your bets.
  • Do Stroll Through the Miracle Mile Shops: Over 140 stores and 15 restaurants are at your disposal in this shopping outlet that's connected to PH.
  • Don't Bring Your Kids to Stay Here: For all of the aforementioned reasons, this hotel is all about partying, and although there are some kid-friendly shows during the day, we advise leaving the kids at home or take them to a family friendly hotel.
  • Don't Expect a Quick Check-In: Being one of the most popular Las Vegas hotels, the Planet Hollywood has a consistently long check-in line, so if you have somewhere to be, make sure you give yourself some extra time to check-in.

Great Location, Great Value

Planet Hollywood is one of the new "hip" hotels on the Strip, and after staying there with some friends over a weekend earlier this month, I can confirm that there is some credibility behind all the hype.

Pros (in no particular order):

  • Their location in the middle of the Strip next to Paris, Bellagio, and the Cosmopolitan is optimal. You can mostly walk anywhere for a meal or for different gambling options. Taking a taxi to either end of the Strip shouldn't cost much more than $10 in either direction.
  • There is a good balance between value and quality of accommodation. Our room cost about $80, which is not bad when you're splitting the cost with a room of friends. You won't be blown away by the decor or fancy schmantz of anything, but then again, that's largely unnecessary for the young Vegas visitor anyway.
  • Everything is clean and fresh, and the air quality down in the casino is noticeably better than the older casinos laden with decades of cigarette smoke and stale air. This is a big plus.
  • Earl of Sandwich. Located on the casino floor, this hidden gem of a sandwich place is perfect for lunch, dinner, and/or a late night snack. An east coast establishment that serves top-notch sandwiches (try anything with their cranberry sauce in it) for affordable prices, I lost count of how many sandwiches our cost-conscious group collectively ate over the weekend. Incredibly convenient. 
  • The service was pretty good throughout our stay. Checking in and out was easy, and when we thought the TV was broken (long story, but don't try using the buttons on the TV itself), service was quick, friendly and understanding.
  • "The Pleasure Pit." If scantily-clad girls dancing on tables while you play blackjack or poker is your thing, PH is the place for you.
  • The Miracle Mile shops are fun for window shopping and Fat Tuesdays (those giant alcoholic slurpees in a long glass). Also, nice if you want to check out the old Arabian Nights theme that existed before Planet Hollywood took over the Aladdin.

Cons:

  • It's kind of hard to find the hotel entrance from the Strip. Unlike some of the other large hotels, there is no grand entrance really. We stumbled into the Miracle Mile entrance first before finding the proper Planet Hollywood front entrance. Both are rather unceremoniously situated on the bottom floor of the (typical unaesthically pleasing) parking structure.
  • This can be a pro for movie buffs I suppose, but we didn't really enjoy having the framed screenshot of the Sixth Sense in our room, nor the large blue jumper that was used in some other movie. The coffee table had some other random movie props beneath the glass surface. 
  • The casino floor minimums get kind of expensive at night... $15 minimums are unsustainable for those gambling on a budget!

Overall, I feel comfortable recommending PH for both groups of friends and families. They have really done a good job of renovating and improving this establishment since the failed days of the Aladdin.

Planet Hollywood Las Vegas - Pleasure Pit keeps it interesting

The “Pleasure Pit” at Planet Hollywood makes gambling truly unique.  The women are much like the Pussy cat dolls and dance in view while at the tables.  Definitely a step up from the typical casino atmosphere.

Stayed here this past July. What a great place! Check-in was quick & painless. Every one of the employees went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The pool area is nice, but a bit small. Great room for $79 very clean and well appointed.The staff was absolutely GREAT!! and the shopping/restaurants are the best on the strip.

Nice One!

What a great place! Check-in was quick & painless. Every one of the employees went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and satisfied. The pool area is nice, but a bit small. The Casino is not the best but there again you can walk to which ever casino you choose easily. They offer spacious rooms that are very clean and well appointed.The staff was absolutely GREAT!!!! the shopping and many restaurant selections were awesome.

Great room, no food

This hotel is going threw a strange conversion from a Moroccan palace to some kind of generic hipster. Our vista room was great - soaking tub in the window of a large bathroom, large room, couch... Could use a refrigerator. Casino nice, but very confusing with carpet paths leading to nowhere. (Your lost after a few drinks!) No advertised restaurants opened, incl a Starbucks that is promoted everywhere! Only 1 (slow) place to eat near casino. Could never even find the buffet (probably closed as well). Shopping is the best in Vegas! Rooms should be discounted during renovations.

Check in was a breeze, check out was a little hectic though, but no big deal. The casino in this hotel is redone so it was bright and shiny and full of energy, which when you gamble, those things are known as "perks", the hotel was sort of low key and quiet, which was also nice. New updated furniture in the rooms with flat screen TV's, our bathroom was huge, my wife REALLY liked that perk, with 2 sinks a giant soaking tub and a separate shower and the view from our room was awesome. The staff was exceptionally good, going out of their way to appease you.

Wonderful casino, but constantly accosted about time-share offer

This was my first extended visit to Las Vegas. My wife had been there several times with friends. We stayed at Planet Hollywood because she thought the casino host she knew would give us a better room rate. She was wrong. Our room was loud with the constant hum of the elevator nearby. Simple things like the non-functioning pop machine on our floor which was never fixed during our stay. The time-share pitch was the worst. Every time you got near a door you were subjected to the "comps" for 90 minutes of your time. My wife and I agreed to the listen to the offer. We spent approx. 45 minutes going through the registration, only to be told that since we hadn't stayed one night yet we were ineligible to participate. The most frustrating part was we TOLD them we had just arrived and the first greeter had no problem with that. So we didn't qualify for our 'comps', although they did give us a $10 sandwich voucher for our time.(which my wife argued for.) I'm more inclined to believe it was our monthly income that voided us. I will add that as you walk down the strip you get approached constantly with the time share pitch form other properties as well, so it's not exclusive to PH. Just annoying. The property itself is very lovely and the 'Miracle Mile' shops were awesome. The casino was a little difficult to navigate, but not all that bad. I can't say enough about the dealers and servers, all very helpful and polite. Beverage service while gambling was great. Found a couple of the restaurants in the shopping area to be great food values. A great $20 breakfast for 2 at one place, and the cheeseburger place was another good find. I'm sure I was a little naive even at 45 at what to expect, but for my first Vegas experience I would have to give it about a B-/C+. Would I stay there again? Maybe, because now I have a little better idea of what to expect.

Anyone who's been to Earl of Sandwhich knows that it's got some exceptional subs. Some would even say, it's worth staying at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino just to have easy access to this joint.

The ingredients here are more fresh and by far healthier then most deli's. We recommend trying the original roast beef sandwich or the full montagu, which is named after the Earl of Sandwich himself and uses the restaurant's distinct special mustard sauce.

Iniside the Planet Hollywood Resort, Prive is a nightclub that has a distinct South Beach feel to it. DJ's spin the newest hip-hop singles at Prive, which motivates the crowd to dance until ther legs won't allow it anymore. The modern and well-placed furniture also gives guests a chance to take a seat and watch the party.

VIP access at Prive might land you a table on the exclusive patio, from where you will have great views of the Vegas Strip as well as the party inside. All in all, a night at Prive will leave you satisfied.

Krave Nightclub is adjacent to the Planet Hollywood Resort on the Vegas Strip, and it is on of the largest, and hottest nightclubs on the Strip. The distinctive feature of Krave is that it caters to the LGBT crowd and straight crowd alike, providing a venue that allows patrons of any persuasion to have a wild night.

There is always a full calendar of events happening at Krave, and the club has many celebrity patrons, that may be found there on any given night. Also, the Go-Go Dancers that have made Krave famous perform there nightly.
