Features: Anglophiles and expats will flock to Queen Victoria's Pub Las Vegas for pints, punk rock, cider, fish and chips, bangers, and "football."
Why We Dine: This Tudor-style tavern and pub spans 7,000 feet and features large screen HDTV's, live bands, and a menu that samples some of Britain's most infamous dishes. Queen Victoria's Pub at the Riviera Hotel is the only British owned and operated pub in Las Vegas and is open 24 hours.
- Cider: Not the apple cider of kindergarten lunch boxes, fermented cider is a widely enjoyed alcoholic beverage in Britain and it packs quite a punch.
- The Full Monty: British back bacon served with two bangers (British sausage), baked beans, bubble and squeek (potato and cabbage) served with two eggs and toast. Basically, this is Britain's version of eggs with bacon, sausage, hash browns and toast. We just like the idea of telling our friends we ate bangers for breakfast in Vegas.
Inside Knowledge: Queen Victoria's Pub on the Las Vegas strip features live bands booked by The Cult's former drummer, Les Warner.
We Recommend:
- Spotted Dick: A baked pudding served with dried fruit and custard. An age old English favorite.
- Tandori Quesadilla: Britain is also known for its Indian food and this dish puts an Indian twist on a Mexican-American favorite. Tandori chicken with melted cheese, tomatoes and cilantro is baked in traditional Indian naan bread.
