Trop is good!
The Tropicana is an ideal location on the strip, its only a minutes walk from all of the big casinos and only a short (cheap) cab ride from the airport. The Garden Cafe had delicious food! The room was spotless and very nice and the staff is great. The pool is incredible with a water fall and they also have an adult pool.

Tropicana, an Okay Place to Stay
Tropicana, an Okay Place to StayThe location is great for considerably less $$ than either NYNY or MGM. The room was well worn but clean. the Tropicana is an older hotel and it shows in the hallways, elevators and rooms. The staff was very efficient, and I liked the shower, I always had hot water and the water pressure provided a strong massaging feel . Room service was also nice and quick. if you're looking for a deal and not too picky about atmosphere, go for it.

Good place
We stayed at Tropicana and thought the inside looked a bit dark and old. The workers there were very friendly & helpful. Our room was perfect and very big larger than we expected. Our friends got married and stayed at Excalibur. They were more impressed with our hotel/room theirs. I would stay here again and recommend it to others. The pool was nice too. Not so sure its kid friendly.

Needs TLC....badly
Needs TLC....badlyThe Trop is a cheap place to stay and thats about all it has to offer it's guests, it's very outdated and needs rebuilt, the Garden rooms are very outdated and kinda dirty hearing the traffic outside all hours of the day and night. I liked JavaJava, they have pretty decent food at good prices, skip the buffet at all costs, literally. Bottom line is that your staying in Las Vegas, down town, and the rooms are cheap, other than that there is not much to look forward to, a decent place to sleep is about all.

Tropicana Hotel and Casino
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Island Tower that had a big room with a great view of the strip. After getting all crazy the first night, we ended up getting married. YES, MARRIED :) We had a blast! We were there for 3 nights and took in Extreme Magic and The Soprano's Dinner shows. Best part... they were all located within the hotel itself.
From The Tropicana, it is an easy walk to the MGM Grand Hotel as well as New York New York Hotel and Casino.
During the day, we worked on tanning our east coast bodies and drank like fish out by the pool and gardens.
We grabbed a quick bite to eat at The Players Deli. Incredible deli sandwiches along with side salads and snacks.
This hotel has old school Vegas charm; some what of the same feeling that you get from watching one of those old Vegas movies.

Good location with nice people. Just needs a face lift which they are doing right now. The hotel is trying to keep up with the trends. Would I stay here again? Yes. Why? Because it will be all new the next time I arrive. Good location close to the airport and other hotels/casinos. It was worth what we paid, but it was also a very busy weekend and my options were limited.

Positives:
Negatives:
The indoor pool and hot tub was closed due to construction. We were not aware of this and these types of things are very important to know before arrival.
All-in-all, our experience here was just ok. I will be anxious to see how the hotel is after the remodel is completed. For the price we paid we were fine with the accommodations that we received.
