Sin City Brew Co. - Not what you think it is
Supposedly there are a few different Sin City Brewing Co. locations kicking around Vegas. This particular review is for the location at the Flamingo.
OK, so I'm not a HUGE beer snob, but I am from Burlington, Vt. which, among other things, is known for its close proximity to a number of impressive local breweries. So yeah, I love good beer and trust me when I say that I've had a whole bunch of it. And trust me once more when I say that the Sin City Brew Co. just isn't good. At all.
When I think of "Brew Company" I think of a brewery with a little ambiance, some beer lovers taste-testing different brews and, lastly, some decent beer. And yet, Sin City lacked all three of these. First, it's tucked away in a little corner by the Habitat and is hardly different from any of the half-dozen bars located on the casino floor. Yeah - not what I pictured.
Second, there was probably one other person at the bar when I walked up. So much for making friends over a couple of cold ones. Looks like I'll be taking this one to go.
And third, the beer I chose - the Amber - was flat. I'm not sure if I got the bottom of the keg, or maybe the 02 tank had called it quits out back but, this beer was flat and bitter. And $6 for a 12oz. Come on, now.
The only pros were that the bartender seemed nice enough and was quick to get my drink order when I walked up, and also the Flamingo Habitat is right next door so you can take your beverage outside and enjoy a little nature and sun. But overall, I would recommend walking right on by the Sin City Brewing Co. when you visit the Flamingo. I know I did - twice in fact - without even trying. I wish I was only so lucky the third time around ...
