Hoover Dam

Not only is the Hoover Dam an impressive inside look in to history and hydroelectric power, but it’s also the perfect place to view the serene majesty of the colorful Mojave Desert landscape.

Inside Information: As one of the Seven Wonders of the Industrial World, the Hoover Dam plays host to over one million visitors a year. To avoid traffic, swarms of tourists and the heat, go to the Hoover Dam early around 9am when this landmark tends to be a little more docile.

Grand Canyon

As one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon is an awe-inspiring look into the beauty of Mother Nature. Located just a few hours outside of Vegas, this is a popular destination for tourists needing respite from the chaotic casinos.

  • Hiking: We believe that the best way to truly experience the Grand Canyon is to hike along some of the beautiful canyon trails such as Bright Angel on the South Rim. Although this will take most of the day, the overpowering sense of accomplishment is well worth it.
  • Helicopter Tours: While being more costly, a helicopter tour provides an unrivaled aerial perspective of this majestic natural landmark. Museums and Exhibits

Titanic Artifact Exhibition

Housed in the Luxor Hotel and Casino, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition is a fascinating tribute to this “unsinkable” legend. More than 300 artifacts from the sunken ship are on display including 20 never-before-seen items such as gaming chips and passenger papers.

  • The Largest Piece: The Titanic Artifact Exhibition features the largest piece of the ship ever recovered from the wreckage, a 15 ton, 26-foot-long chunk of the Titanic’s hull.
  • Boarding Passes: Before entering the exhibit, guests are given a boarding pass representing a real Titanic passenger. This gives guests a vested interest in a passenger as they follow their story up until the end when they discover if the passenger was one of the 705 who survived.

Inside Information: Unfortunately, photography is prohibited in the exhibit. However, for those looking for a souvenir, there is a professional photographer at the Artifact Exhibition who can take a photo of you in front of the Titanic’s famous Grand Staircase.

Bodies the Exhibition

Showcasing 13 whole-body specimens and more than 260 organs, Bodies the Exhibition is an intriguing and captivating in-depth look into the human body. Located in the Luxor Hotel and Casino, this educational exhibit features nine rooms dedicated of the body including respiratory, digestive, muscular and circulatory.

  • Educational: Offering guests advice to prevent diseases and improve their quality of life, Bodies the Exhibition is an educational and informative look into modern medical science.
  • Fetal Development: In the most sensitive section of the exhibit, the different development stages of a baby are on display including various birth defects like conjoined twins.

Inside Information: The bodies on display in this fascinating exhibit are mainly those of Chinese prisoners that agreed to donate their bodies to science when they passed. To prevent the bodies from decaying, all of the tissue and water is replaced with silicone rubber, a process known as polymer preservation.
